Objectives 2012/13.
The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) exists to promote the beauty, tranquillity and diversity of rural England by encouraging the sustainable use of land and other natural resources in town and country.

In the Dorset Branch we have five local Groups who monitor nearly every planning application to ensure they comply with the Council’s Plan Policy and Design Guidelines. Please contact us if you are unable to locate the information you require.

Dorset CPRE will have a stand at the Garden Open Day, Waterston Manor, 23rd June. TAINT is raising funds to fight the proposed 9 Wind turbine project between Tolpuddle & Milborne St Andrews.


Thank you to our members and their guests who supported the annual Dorset CPRE Summer Garden Party, Saturday 1st June at The Manor, Winterborne Tomson. Alistair Chisholm, Dorchester’s Town Crier, opened the event with Thomas Hardy stories/poems and Florence Astley, a local harpist, provided the music. Photos to follow.


On 14th May, a late u-turn by council officers looks set to see plans to build hundreds of homes on the edge of Dorchester put on hold.
