A Litter Solution that has been proven to work

The Chickerell Community Litter Team solved the litter problem by better prevention & education, making picking up litter more manageable. This year 2011, the group celebrate 10 years of litter campaigning. Objective : To ensure everyone practices the litter codes (getting into the hearts & minds of people).

Litter Prevention Concept : Promoting good citizenship & community spirit which gives society the initiative to bring about a change in behaviour culture.

Find a bin & put it in campaign 2009 : The vision that most litter offenders were decent citizens was proven to be true. Good communication in every household, in schools & community signs inspired residents to discuss litter issues. Litter offenders were automatically involved persuading over 80% not to drop litter. With litter substantially reduced on the streets & countryside encouraged residents to pick up litter around their home & local area.

Promoting the Litter Prevention Concept : One year on Chickerell now has a successfully tried & tested product. The litter team is confident that other communities have the same concerns and desire for change as the residents in Chickerell. The litter team is seeking other communities to use our readymade campaign so that they can enjoy the same benefits Chickerell is experiencing. The team is willing to help any community to get started. Extensive details are available from Brian Bean, chairman. Tel. 01305 770678 email litterbean@hotmail.co.uk.
