Announcements

We have moved from our old address at The Little Keep as the building will shortly undergo a major refurbishment. Mail will be redirected from the old address to Dorset CPRE, PO Box 9018, Dorchester, DT1 9GY.

Dorset CPRE sponsored a new class Best Village Shop’, in the Best Dorset Village Competition.  At the awards evening on 18th September the judges declared Winfrith Village Stores in Purbeck the winner, but Iwerne Minster, North Dorset, came in as a worthy runner-up. We would like to ask CPRE members to help our village shops.

Plans have now been submitted to NDDC for the Blandford Hill Wind Farm in North Dorset under planning application number 2/2014/0768/PAEIA . We have written to our Dorset Members explaining the reasons why Dorset CPRE are objecting to the Blandford Hill Wind Farm application, which is hugely damaging, and including a proforma letter and map of the wind farm location. NDDC have now received well over 1,000 written protests against this wind farm. Strong objections have been made by Natural England, and both the Dorset and Cranborne Chase AONB Partnerships, as well as the North Dorset MP, Bob Walter.
