The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) exists to promote the beauty, tranquillity and diversity of rural England by encouraging the sustainable use of land and other natural resources in town and country. In the Dorset Branch we have five local Groups who monitor nearly every planning application to ensure they comply with the Council’s Plan Policy and Design Guidelines. Please contact us if you are unable to locate the information you require.

In 2014 Dorset CPRE will be sponsoring a new class ‘Best Village Shop’, in the Best
Dorset Village Competition, organised by Dorset Community Action.
Dorset CPRE is disappointed by the outcome of EDDC's planning meeting on 12th November,
having won the argument hands down that such a large and damaging solar park at Mapperton
Farm is unnecessary to meet East Dorset's 2020 target for electricity generation
from PV panels.
