The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) exists to promote the beauty, tranquillity and diversity of rural England by encouraging the sustainable use of land and other natural resources in town and country.

In the Dorset Branch we have five local Groups who monitor nearly every planning application to ensure they comply with the Council’s Plan Policy and Design Guidelines. Please contact us if you are unable to locate the information you require.

Announcements

We have moved from our old address at The Little Keep as the building will shortly undergo major refurbishment. Mail will be redirected from the old address to Dorset CPRE, PO Box 9018, Dorchester, DT1 9GY.

Plans have now been submitted to NDDC for the Blandford Hill Wind Farm in North Dorset under planning application number 2/2014/0768/PAEIA . We have written to our Dorset Members explaining the reasons why Dorset CPRE are objecting to the Blandford Hill Wind Farm application, which is hugely damaging, and including a proforma letter and map of the wind farm location. Although the revised expiry date for written protests is 20th August, the planning officer has said he will still accept objections for a few weeks afterwards.

Help us spot the wasted spaces where you live #WasteOfSpace. More housing is needed in England and we support the Government’s policy that brownfield land should be used for new homes. Please help us by nominating brownfield sites in your area that could be suitable for housing development in the future. Tweet @CPRE @DorsetCPRE with the hashtag #WasteOfSpace.
